Sunlight Mountain Resort offers what many resorts have forgotten – an authentic ski experience in the middle of nature. Getting intimate with nature is one of the main benefits of skiing and snowboarding in the Colorado Rockies. For those seeking out an authentic day or days of skiing, Sunlight Mountain is one of the best choices.

The main summit is located on the mountain called Compass. From here, Mount Sopris and the adjacent Elk Mountain Range can be seen and appreciated.

Sunlight Mountain Resort offers a full list of ski options in order to satisfy everyone who visits; acres and acres of greens and blues, but also a whole section of the mountain that sports a whole series of  black diamonds. A short distance for the fabled town of Glenwood Springs, Sunlight Mountain fits the profile for the ideal skiing destination in Colorado.

All those green and mild slopes are perfect for children looking for a private skiing experience. For those who frequent the resort, ski instructors have created a great program which consists of ski lessons, equipment for rent, and even child care for very young children not yet ready for the slopes.

Lastly, snowmobiling is another favorite activity here, and the paths around Sunlight Mountain are perfect for speeding along the beautiful scenery. Views which span in every direction can easily be enjoyed here as well. Sunlight Mountain offers fantastic options for beginners, intermediates, and experts.

Sunlight Reviews:

(no reviews at this time)

My Take: I can’t wait to ski this place. For a while I had to go to the Aspen area for work and finally one day I drove up to Sunlight off season and it looked great even without snow. But from the map, Sunlight looks like a lot of good terrain without all the people, hype and glitz.
