Hesperus Ski Area ~

Hesperus Ski Area

This quiet and family-friendly ski area has a unique twist on Colorado’s famous skiing experience. Most all the resorts have favorable conditions to the plentiful snow, well-kept slopes, and clear, sunny skies in the daytime. These conditions make Colorado skiing some of the best in the world, day after day of beautiful day skiing can induce occasional boredom among the regular skiing community. There is no boredom at Hesperus though; the night skiing sets it apart.

Hesperus benefits from being near the famous skiing and snowboarding center of Durango. In fact, lying just 11 miles west from this attractive city, Hesperus capitalizes on the great weather found throughout southwest Colorado.

However, Hesperus offers something special as well. The ski area was designed with night skiing and snowboarding in mind. It is truly a memorable experience to find yourself skiing down the beautifully crisp slopes of Hesperus at night. The ski area boasts state of the art lighting systems around over 80% of its runs. Lighting mimics natural light to maintain the night time skiing experience. The lodge at the Hesperus Ski Area sits atop 8,000 feet of mountain, overlooking the magnificent night skiing landscape. For an unforgettable ski or snowboarding experience, pay a visit to Hesperus this winter.

Hesperus Reviews:

none at this time

My Take: I’ve driven by Hesperus a few times on my way to Telluride and thought it looked like a cute little place to hang for a quick get-away and some night skiing if I lived in Durango and I wanted to take a break from Durango Mountain. Get to Hesperus and get-away!
